Key facts:
1600-1750
Ornamentation- frilly with flourished notes
Harpsichord - a distinctive and unique sound, because instead of being hammered the strings inside are being picked
Stringed instruments: violins, violas, cello, Organs, Flutes, Trumpets and horns
Smaller grouping because there is no tuning rule specifying which note sounds like which - Chamber music
Baroque period was the birth of opera(mixture of singing, instrumental music and drama - it is a play that is sung)
