Composition Annotation Bradley Goddard I chose to compose a song that had an acoustic feel that focuses on the singing, I used Damien Rice's acoustic sounding songs for inspiration but I wanted to include a rocky side so put in a middle 8/instrumental on an electric guitar. I first thought about bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and other bands with songs that had riffs instead of chords but i realised that they are very complex songs so I decided to utilise both elements to get both acoustic and electric . I also first thought about using different guitar sounds so that it stood out but an acoustic sound suited my lyrics better so by intertwining a riff so that there was focus on the guitar as well as the singing. The part I worked on first were the chords because a song can change because of the chords, I used barre chords to create an acoustic feel but by including the riff it changed the feel to
